ip problem after x3 install

okay i have a few xbox's in my place(chipped with 2.6's)
this is my 1st X3 install
my network is set up thruogh a router on a cable modem

whenver i want to FTP to a different xbox i need to turn of the cable modem for 5-10 mins to clear the memory and upon reboot it assigns whatever xbox is connected an Ip address. this address stays the same for that xbox untill another is connected then i have to repeat the prcedure.

now with my X3 set up the IP method works fine but when i re-boot the xbox the IP is lost

nothing has changed on my network set up so im guessing its an X3 setting i need to change

i deactivated live blocking as i thought this was the problem but its still the same.

xbox is a 1.6 crystal

any help appreciated

if you have multiple xboxes you would be better off setting static ip addresses rather than having DHCP enabled that way each box can have its own IP and you shouldn't have this problem. Hope thios helps :D

the modem has the IP adress that the internet sees. Your PC and Xbox has its IP set by the router. you should have access to a program or web site style page to change the configuration of the router. What type of router are you using. to go into router configs is a way deep subject
