I would definetly buy the pro switch if it had the IR dongle replacement in it.

I would LOVE for my X3CP to have an IR mod in it. With the LCD over ports 3 and 4, there is no room to have the dongle in without covering up part of the LCD.

I have done XIR and other IR mods. They are a major PITA and only have limited functionality. Not worth the effort IMHO.

/begs TeamX for an IR add-on for X3CP.

Would Xecuter comment on the functionality of their development of the IR mod?

The product in my opinion Should be a hybrid of An On/Off IR mod And the Microsoft Dongel on the same ir sensor. Piggybacking on lets just say controller port 4? as a solderless solution.

If port 4 then there'd have to be a way to disable it. Port 3 & 4 are used by the X3CP's USB ports.

Not that it's a huge difference... I'd say port 1. It's the most obscured by the X3CP, you can't plug in the dongle, or a wireless controler without pressing the bank buttons so you need port 2 for those.

Buuut. I thought for sure I saw it would be IRMod based so who's for sure besides Xecuter himself...

I am planning on getting the X3CP and an IR Mod -
http://www.baldbouncer.co.uk/catalo...d/132?osCsid=4ddc4324aefd47f48fc20d1b8430054c

I figured this IR mod would allow me to use the remote for all the XBMC functions. http://manual.xboxmediacenter.de/wakka.php?wakka=DefaultButtonMapping&v=s5u

I currently have a crystal xbox and the black IR dongel - it is the height of uglyness!!! If the IR was hidden and did more than just turned off the xbox it makes sense. Makes no sense if you can't use it for skipping albums, tracks etc

What's the X3 IR mod gonna be able to do? I can't find any proper nfo on it.

What is the IR mod going to do, is the question that this thread seaks an answer to.
The rewiring of the M$ dongle, piggy backs onto the 4th port. I believe it needs to make a connection on the port to enable it.
What i was hopeing for would be that Xecuter would make a new port which includes the dongle and you feed the IR sensor by the ports like in the x3 display power leads. I guess the problem would be cost.
Team xecuter, please release some info on the functionality

firebomb has done it, he hardwired the dvd dongle into his cp :)
i was thinking of trying it out too, but i guess there wouldnt be any place left for the ir mod to turn the box on/off... pity :(
i guess teamx will have a good ir solution in their media center case tho!

IR status form Team X - please-

I'm another person that is interested in the IR mod. I see the progress chart was pulled off the homepage. I saw the IR mod at 95% complete the last time I saw it yet I see updates for gamecube cases and such and now the progress chart is gone. It would be nice if we had a status update on where this mod stands. It looks like there is A LOT of interest in this particular mod. I for one would buy two for both my xboxes.

Thanks in advance!

Chester. :D

ir conspiracy?

Why has the team never elaborated on such a hotly demanded product? Surely there'd be an easy return on investment with so much demand...

Is there some "big media" conspiracy afoot to not give us remote control of the Xbox?

Weird

What's This Thing About A New System Update?

So I heard there is a new system update that is gonna support those new USB stick things MS are releasing, my friend (whos console I flashed) told me its now asking him to do a system update and it wont let him onto live, does this mean im gonna have to flash back to its original stock firmware and then re-flash it with LT?

Will appreciate any help
