Is 3294 the best bios for X3?

I've got a 1.4, chip is coming and I'm trying to get a good head start, about the only thing I'm hung up on now (i'm sure there will be more later) is the bioses... I realize I'll use the X3, but in the xbins I saw multiple versions. i know I don't need or want the v16 versions, but is it pretty standard that everyone uses the X3 3294?

Hey also why I'm asking, with the no solder kit I'll still need to solder the HD/LAN wires right? I'm getting a control panel (XLCD) as well as the chip.

Thanks,

Cool and what about soldering the HD/LAN, I'm sure this will become apparent when i get my stuff, but I'm trying to plan ahead. If I'm using a solder free kit will I still need to do that soldering?

i never used a solderless kit but i really doubt that you will be able to use the HDD and lan LED. I think that you NEED to solder those, but im not 100% on that.

tobb555 is correct. If you want the feature of hdd and lan lights to work, you'll have to solder them. But if your not fussed, you can just leave them off.

Just a thought... the HD and LAN leds are REALLY useful for when you're first setting up your network. When you ping your xbox IP to verify connection, you have a visual confirmation of the LAN lighting up.

I downloaded the latest X3 bios (3294) but the compressed file was not correct. When comparing it to the 3293 file, it seems like it's corrupted.

Extracting the 3294 BIOS gave me one text file, although there was a folder with a strange name in the RAR file.

Anyone know if something is flaky with the distribution server? (No one answered in the channels)
