Is it illegal?

Well here is my question.. Is it the bios that is illegal or is it the software? And what is the best bios/software to use for the X3ce w/ a V1.6 Xbox motherboard?

And the most important question.. Where can I get it or who is willing to give it to me? I would really appreciate it..

On a side note.. Last night was my first time installing a modchip/soldering anything in my life and I did it on 2 Xbox's.. one which was V1.0 and one that was V1.6.. according to the instructions guide I used for the function check.. everything is working great... just need to get my software/bios flashed now.. looking for some sort of support. Appreciate everybodys help. Dave

It's right under the install instructions you used.

The bios you are going to get with the x3's are 3108. The xbox ver 1.0 takes 3108_old_.rar and the ver 1.6 takes 3108_ver1.6plus.rar... be sure that you don't screw this up!!

If you do you can really screw up the xbox's... there's always back-up bios's and what not... but keep the trend up and do it right the first time.

I strongly suggest you do the http bios flash. It is by far the easiest!!

Ok, now for the leagle issues... these bios's were probably made using a copy of the original xbox bios... the are a "hacked" version of that bios.

Since xbox hasn't given us permission to use the bios... it's for all intents stolen.

So... if you use that bios it is illeagle. It is kinda muddy water... but that's the quick and dirty on that subject.
