ANSWERED Is it Possible to Replace Xbox 360 DVD Drive by Spoofing

Hey guys! I was wondering if it is possible to replace a Benq VAD6038 by buying a new one and flashing the firmware from the original drive to it? I am on the latest dashboard and I have heard that this method does not work anymore. I have done it before on my flashed xbox, but am wondering if it is still possible?

If it is not possible, will swapping the PCB Boards work?

Ok, cool! That's what I thought and have always done, but I always do it on consoles for use offline, not for Xbox Live. I saw a link that said this won't work, glad it's not true!

swapping out the pcb will also work if its same model drive..

It's more of the fact that ap2.5 will prevent spoofed drives from booting xgd3 games offline making the console useless rather than bans etc
