Is it possible to use a phat demon in a slim?

I'm wondering if I could secure the demon to the motherboard using some double sided tape and use the solder pads instead of the quick solder points to install via wires. I realize that I would need to find some pinouts to get it wired up properly, but is there anything I am overlooking that would prohibit this from working?
