What are you using for a power supply? I believe I have the same problem if I try and use a USB to Molex adapter. I had to use a true Molex power supply.

Im connecting it to a usb. I also forgot to mention, ive noticed that when i press eject on the ck3 mini, the benq drive red laser (disc reader thing) turns on meaning its getting power but maybe too little, probably. im thinking of just powering from my xbox360..resulting in ban :(

The DVD-ROM requires 12v to eject, USB will only give 5v.

I think solves your issue - connect your CK3 mini to a 12v MOLEX power supply (I think an adapter is included).

However, since this is a BenQ, BenQ Unlock should work without any need for eject (firmware dependant).

No it wouldn't. Look at post 4 by BL4K3Y. You need 12 volts for the eject. A USB is only 5 volts. Big difference.

He shouldn't need 12v. All you need is the 5v , to power the drive. You should be fine flashing the drive with 5v. I never needed 12v for any drive. If i need to eject, I just turn the little plastic gear, to unlock the tray and pull out the tray myself.

hooking it up to a usb plug will still give you 5 volts ac. You need to hook it up to either 12 volts molex connector on your pc or one an adaptor which plugs into the wall with a 12v molex plug. see pic
