obviously before i installed my coolrunner and booted xexmenu and fsd id no idea what my temps were to compare but since i have i have been a bit concerned.

my cpu and gpu when the system was sitting idle for about 10 mins had gotten to about 64 deg c each and were still climbing very slowly.

i just sold a jasper i had j tagged and it was idling in the 50s with it just going over 60 after prolonged gameplay and the j tag i had before was a falcon the was in the low 70s but it went rrod hence my concern.

the ram and case seem lot lower on the slim however in the 30s.

is this unusually high for a slim? also i was wondering does the coolrunner do anything to the cpu that could be making it work harder after thae system is up and running or is the chip idle after it has booted the system?

just dont want to be playing this yet until i get a better idea of normal temps as people i have talked to have said slims normally are in the 50s just.

ps it is sitting on its own with acres of space around it so poor ventilation is not likely a cause

Coolrunner isn't doing anything after boot so its not likely to have a negative effect at all. But I have been wondering what would happen if CR is turned of AFTER boot.:)

Considering FSD isn't designed to work with the slim and the CPU and GPU are combined, i wouldn't take much notice of it until the new version of FSD is released.

mine runs at 48C CPU, 46 CPU, fans at 70%

if u have your nand fans set to AUTO, youll get about 10C more

Cheers mate i feel a bit better now. I also tried adjusting the fans with fsd but it didnt work. I put that down to the current version being designed for jtag which was phats only when rgh didnt exist and is likely something that will be fixed in the new one. As somebody said i think u can change the fan speed when creating your nand image but tbh i prefer it on auto rather than fixed which was why i liked the fan option in fsd because u can adjust them up and down as u like without having to fix them atone setting at nand level.

That aside since ive gone to switched 3.3v my xbox is booting sweetly. Normally 5 secs with the very rare 20 or 30 which is no great hardship

To adjust the fans you have to rebuild the ggbuild image.

Edit options.ini before building and change cpufan and gpufan parameters.

The 70C thing is normal, Ive done 15+ Slims, all ran at 70C, Just run the nand through multibuilder and change the CPU & GPU Warning Temps to 55C. Keeps the xbox a a very good cool/quiet ratio
