did u splash solder on the mobo? the pin header by itself should NOT casue a frag unless u bridged some traces really bad...even if u bridge the lpc it shouldnt matter since the d0 isnt getting a connection with the chip being out

Also, if you used a higher than 15 watt soldering iron you could have possibly burnt up one of the IC's on the board.

It happened to me once. Modchips.ca sold me a new board for $80.

Of course, that might NOT be the problem too. Using a higher wattage iron increases the probability of frying a componenet, but doesnt guarentee it. I used a 30, no problems, just had to be aware of how close to the chips I was getting.

Take a look at the chips around where you soldered. Do they look burned? Check for anywhere near where you soldered that you might be bridging two traces. I would think that would be more likely than you burning out a chip by using a hotter iron.

you guys have to remember that some people consider the xbox "fragging" as simply prompting them with an error screen such as 5

if you are getting error 5 with x3 removed but not with x3 connected, then you simply have to lock your harddrive

This may not allways be the case, at first my xbox frag and there was no error at all. But locking the HD fixed the problem.
