Hi every1. Newbie here. Might be a stupid Q, but I have just updated my xbox console today. My dashboard version was 2.0.12625 before update. My question is after the firmware modification for my modded xbox, will this be reflected in my dashboard?

I have clarify with the 1 tat helps me to update my xbox console. He says he has updated the modded firmware modification to play newer games, not the dashboard. Dashboard is therefore still 2.0.12625. Is this possible? Thank you so much :D

You can update the firmware without updating the dashboard but it is stupid. As soon as you update the dashboard it will flash the drive back to stock. You have to update the dashboard to play the newer games.

Hi. I agree with you, its kinda stupid to update the firmware without updating the dashboard. However, his claim is that newer games can still played as the firmware is updated, not the dashboard. Haven't try this yet, but will by end of the day and see wat the results is. Thx :)

Tried playing one of the newer games, Gears of War 3 after the console update and true enough I was asked to update my console in order to play the game :(. Anyway, if i were to apply the update, will it screw up my modded console in any way? Cheers

Yes if you update the console it remove the modified firmware from your drive, exactly as stated.

Hey. I did update my console using Gears of War 3 as per the advice of the modder for my console. Dashboard is updated to 2.0.13146. Was able to play Gears of War 3 without a prob. What do u think happened? Im wrried I wont be so lucky if Arkham City asked me to update as Im sure if the next game requires an update, it will definitely be the latest which is 2.0.13599.

I have read on forums that Xbox Slim is locked-protected and thats the reason why there is no need to reset to stockware before updating the dashboard. Correct me if Im wrong. Thx :)

Btw, I do not access Xbox Live at all. Never connected to the Internet be4 using my Xbox. Nt sure whether its relevant to this issue or not. Cheers :)
