is there a way to flash the Sammy drive to be played on any Xbox and work (I Have a retail Xbox that doesn't have a disc drive)

Do you have the drive key from the Xenon console?
If the console originally had a Samsung drive, you can use it.

that's my problem i don't have it and i don't remember what drive it had in it all i have is and spare VAD6038 And the Sammy Drive
also ive tried flashing both, they both were successful but said play DVD

Which dashboard version is the Xenon console running?
If it's 14699 or below, you can use RGH to get the drive key, but be warned, it is a very unreliable hack and it may take a few hours before XeLL boots.

In that case there is nothing u can do. Xenon's are not worth bothering with anyway. Very very unreliable.

That makes no difference.
That dashboard version is not compatible with Xenon RGH which means you can't recover the drive key.
