for the install of the coolrunner? or is it that it just makes it easier for some people to find the points and install it. personally i think it would be easier with just wire from my soldering experience but some people have told me the pcb cuts down the boot time etc.. is this totally not true? i ordered some coolrunners and didnt know if i should get the pcb's to install them with. i have extensive soldering experience from working at ibm for so many years so this should be no big deal to install either way. so is there really any differences?

thanks

Sorry a bit confused as to what your asking, do you mean QSB or PCB.

The qsb makes it easier to read and write to the nand as you leave it in, therefore no more soldering if you have to write to the nand again, personnaly i just use the wires

Also the QSB is suppose to clear up some interference with the HANA point. I usually use wire install. I don't care much for the qsb. Well I use the POST_OUT QSB on slims as that thing is amazing.

In your Nand
I think he means QSB, yes QSB are easier for new comers but you should stick practice on old board before actually soldering. Remember their are 3 ways to read and write QSB is the easiest out of all of them (next would be wires lol)

Just search the forum. Different wiring routes and what not to clear up any type of interference. It messes with the boot, boot times and some times can cause games to freeze.

Qsb is easier to solder and you don't have to resolder wires (unless you leave them there) later when you need to reflash nand when you want dash update.

I always use the QSB's for RGH installs... except 1 console.

That one, I used the QSB's from the NAND-X just for reading the NAND, but soldered to the alt point for the HANA, so the actual coolrunner was a direct wire install. Doesn't seem any different to a QSB console in complete honesty, but then all the one's i've done so far have been falcons.

It's down to what your prefer, both QSB's and wiring do the exact same job. I've done both, and use QSB's for the sheer fact that it also has the NAND-X connectors built in, so just for convenience. Other than that, doesn't make a difference.

for someone with soldering experience is the qsb a pain to solder on i have been reading very mixed some say yes some say no... add a bit of solder to the points and add some to the qsb then flow them together is that the best way to handle the qsb points?

and what temps do you recc the gun be set to for the qsb points?

It shouldn't be hard to solder on, but it's a pain to desolder it and use with another console.

I would recommend wire to point no QSB as they are good but if you aren't skilled to soldier I would go wire to point or install the pin headers that came with your NAND X
