Got 2 of these from the same installer, both have died (or dying) within 12 months. I bought 2 new x2.6 ce chips an installed them and flashed no probs, but at looking at them they have a nice x2.6 logo as do pics i've seen of the lite version, these 2 old chips don't, they have a G1 and G2 printed on them and also there is an extra resistor on the pcb by the led, looking at pics of the lite version on teamX the lite version does not have this extra resistor and has a x2.6 logo on the pcb. Can anyone shed any light on these chips, gen or not?

Cheers.

Yes, that is an official 2.6. Technically they are not a 2.6 Light because there is no such thing as a 2.6 CE Light. Team Xecuter no longer uses Light and Pro for their chips.

That is a 2.6, not a 2.6CE. I don't remember them ever having the 2.6 logo. Either way, it is an official X2.6. There were a few discussions about this some months back. On top of that, I haven't heard a single instance of cloned 2.6 chips.

Gen x2.6 lite

Thanks for your input guys, but just so everyone is clear i've got some pics off xbox-scene.com below. First pic is of my old x2.6 lite, second is a pic of a x2.6 lite off xbox-scene and the third is of a x2.6 ce. Note there are differences between my old x2.6 lite and the pictured x2.6 lite i got from xbox-scene.

As I said before, there is no such thing as a 2.6 Lite. As I also said before, there were a ton of these questions some months back, and the conclusion was these are genuine.

How are the chips "dying"?

Hi, one chip would boot up one day and then would not the next, tried to flash it with my programmer and it would not flash. The second booted all the time but would sometimes give a colour distorted screen, same again, tried to reflash and it would not accept it. So replaced with 2 new x2.6 ce chips and all works properly now. Just for your info, the middle pic above is taken from xbox-scene.com under the heading x2.6 lite and the pic on the right from the same site comes under the heading x2.6 ce.
