I just installed my x3, and it boots up, goes right to a screen that says flashbios v.xxx, and underneath it says flash from network, load bios from hd, load bios from chip, blah blah

i have the original hd in it

my question is, what do you select? bios from chip? also do you have to flash every chip before you can use it? or is that just for updates?

also if i double tap the power button so it boots from the original bios, the xbox screen comes up, then the xbox reqires repair screen. But i had to repair the xbox using this (http://www.llamma.com/xbox/Repairs/ComaConsole.htm)
method a while ago, do i have to remove that jumper before it will work?

Yeah, so you haven't flashed the bios for the chip yet. You need to search for "the usual places" and find a bios to flash the chip. Then you'll need to install a dash to work with your files. Not to be an ass, but you need to do some reading of the tutorials on xbox-scene.com - that will explain how all this works. Some questions can/should not be answered on the forums and this is one of them.

The way to boot to the original MS bios with the X3 chip is to hold the power button until the X3 external switch LED is red. If this is what you're doing, and getting an error.... usually that's because your drive is unlocked. Not sure what the deal here is if you haven't messed with your drive. But...

What made you use that tutorial to "fix" your box? What symptoms were you having before and after that fix? Also, what version of Xbox do you have?
