I was just curious; I recently installed an X3 on a 1.6b Xbox for my friend. I own a 1.3 Xbox with an X3 flashed with bios 1959 and Flash bios 3.03. Obviously in order to get the 1.6b to work with the X3 (purchased before the release of 1959 and flash bios 3.03) I had to either flash his chip in my Xbox or just trade chips with him (for simplicity). Well I ended up trading chips with him, putting his x3 in my Xbox and then re-flashing it (the new chip with no bios and Flash Bios 3.00) back to 1959 and Flash bios 3.03 later. My question is, before this whole process, my box worked flawless, now, every so often I get some kind of artifact in the middle of my TV (kind of like a white line). Is this just me being paranoid or could some how the swaps have done this (due to lose connection or something)?

Also, I was very gentle in both installations so I don’t know what would have caused any malfunctions. Is this probably just my TV/VCR or my X3or Xbox?

i suggest trying a re-flash, lots of problems are fixed that way, other than that, you could have cracked the x3 chip in a miniscule way and something is just fuggin up, try the re-flash tho

no you cant replace the drive without dumping the key off the 9 series first. so be careful what you do. lol

+1, and if you screwed up and flashing with ixtreme LT you will need a drive of the same version (since LT unspoofable), and i been having trouble finding lite-on drives 9xxxx series

good luck :)

Re: 9XXXXX Drive Replacement.

actually, you can use any lite-on as the hardware is the same

jungleflasher will put up a fight, but you can flash any lite-on series to any lite-on series firmware

this takes care of the cross-spoofing problem

it does work
