Is this wire unnecessary?

Xmods installed my coolrunner and did a great job but I messed up my nand flashing it with a usb stick and I need to flash the nand manually as it will not boot.

It is the yellow one. Xmods installed a pinheader but only did it for the first four wires there. Do I need this one connected to flash the nand? Everywire connects correctly except the yellow one.

The yellow wire is indeed necessary, I believe it is the GND wire for your NAND-X.

it's wired up so that means yes it's needed ffs.

You can read the nand with out the yellow wire soldered on the board. If you were to short your board with the nandx reading it would fry your nandx though.

No need for the yellow wire I never use it ever lol.

Is this true? I did turn on my 360 accidently by shorting 2 points using a multmeter? What if it is my nand x?

Solder the nandx up with out the yellow wire and it works fine. what i am saying if you do not have the yellow wire soldered on you are not protected against the shorts that you may do by moving a wire or turning on your xbox.

As the mod above is wrong you do not need it and that is y xmods does not have the pin header installed

I suggest that this mod try to use the nandx without the wire installed.

I have all of my nandx this way ever sense i got my nandx.

I cut of the yellow wire and read the nand without the yellow wire

Yes that is exactly what I am saying try reading a nand without the yellow wire. No disrespect intended just try it works just fine and is how i jtag all the consoles I do and I do a lot.

Check that your drivers are correctly installed, try installing the NAND-X on another USB port.

i go visit xmods quite frequently and to be honest... he never uses that yellow wire, he is the one who told me it isn't necessary

Also try to reset your nandx by hitting the button on the top of the nandx with a paper clip.

Well now my Nand X will not light up when plugged into any USB port. I am 96% sure it is my Nand X.
