ok guys here i go again with another issue usually not this n00bish but this xbox is giving me more problems than a female

ok i got my cygnos working again after it failed
so today i go to update my xbl nand but it kicks me an error fearing i got banned(whole point of a cygnos) i called xb support even they were stumped lol not once did they say i was banned so i played dumb etc etc in the end he said i needed to send it in for repair
wish they could repair my cygnos to ha

well before all this mishap another member suggested to to update the xbl nand then redo my rgh nand by changing the values on CF LDV patch 0 to 6 from the original 5 it had

before all this my cygnos had failed so i i flashed my rgh nand img with ldv value of 6 using flash tool xex
and after switching to the xbl nand it no longer booted only my rgh nand stumped i patched my original nand dump by changing the ldv value from 5 to 6 like i did to the rgh nand and instant boot

so i assuming the issue thats causing all this crap is my ignorant a$$ changing the ldv value to 6 from the original 5

i even tried flashing nands with original ldv of 5 but neither boot only nand imgs with ldv of 6

any one have any thoughts on this

only reason i need to do this is to update my xbl nand to get back online

is there a way to reflash the ldv value back to 5 so my original nand dump and rgh img boot? or once i changed the ldv value to 6 i was done for?

i know what my original ldv value was it was 5 not 6 but i made the img with 6 for the ldv value because another member suggested it but everytime i try to flash an img with the ldv of 5 it doesnt boot only when i flash a img with ldv of 6 i read my original nand dump and it also says 5 dont know how to reflash or do something to accept my original nand dump itll accept an original nand dump nothing changed but with the ldv of 6 not 5

also tried flashing it the same way i flashed the first img i did with 6 but it still wont boot my original nand dump

Increase the 5 to 6 in that case. 4 was your value on dash 12625. 5 was your last value and 6 will be your new value. Open multibuilder and in the my 360 folder there is an options file. Enter six as the new ldv value in the appropriate line and rebuild your image with that.
this was suggested by another member and i did that so basically it worked but i didnt update my xbox live nand before i flashed a ldv 6 img first now it wont update on xbox live or boot my original nand dump that i got when i first did my rgh using jtag tool itll only boot moddified imgs with the ldv value of 6 not 5 like my original anyway i can revert back somehow or am i screwed

yes they told you to change because once you updated the console the ldv value changed...The value 5 is no longer in use and it is now 6 :)

You also have to create an original nand image with ldv value of 6. Sorry forgot to add that.

Sorry didn't see the last part. I would disconnect the rgh nand and update first. Not sure how else to do it. Did one today myself and had the same thing happen. Started the rgh update but then original nand wouldn't boot unless I disconnected the glitch vcc line. Original nand then booted up np..Then rgh wouldn't boot cause my ldv value changed so I updated that and created a new image.

Now both nands boot fine, but with my nandwich the switch is no longer working and I have to disconnect the glitch chip to boot original nand. Gotta figure out how to wire my switch different or something to have it disconnected when booting original nand :(

Your ldv value is probably 7 now that you've updated yet again :)

sorry don't disconnect the rgh nand but disconnect the glitch chip just the vcc line will do and take the update. Than wire back in and check xell for your ldv value, I'm betting it's 7 now.

As I stated mine wont' boot either with glitch chip installed, not sure why and I'm still search also to see if others are having problems with dual nands and booting original dash with glitch chip active.

Once I take off glitch chip vcc or ground it boots instantly. Therefor I'm assuming I need to run a different switch to control the chip being on and off.

That's all I did. Oh and I haven't caught that part. You can boot now but cant' update?

Not sure what to say there. Why not just rebuild your original nand and flash it? Just make sure you build it with correct ldv values. After updating you probably should check ldv values again and make sure all is good. If they have changed rgh won't boot.

ok when i flash a patched version of my original nand dump with ldv 6 it boots normal
but not a xe build of 14717 using the patched original nand dump nor using the original nand dump then patching it
but i built a 14717 rgh bin and boots perfectly

i installed a switch to turn on and off my cool runner which works perfect

I think you may need to wait until it's possible to build a 14717 retail. There are a lot of system changes with the new version which could be causing you problems.

EDIT: Try switching the CR to PRG and seeing if your retail NAND will update/boot from there.

I think your LDV is fine if you can boot. Now the retail nands wont boot with the coolrunner turned on.

I think MS disabled POST signal with the new dash update and the glitch chips don't know what to do without it. I think they were using it to tell when the glitch had been successful and without it they're left clueless. (If that's wrong can someone correct me it helps me learn). If thats right that's what stopped you booting.

Turn your coolrunner off by installing a switch for retail.
