Issues

Im a little dissapointed that the X3 comes with no instructions at all.

My mates Xbox has not even been chipped just flashed and it works fine if not better, so what does the X3 really do and do we really need it ?

there are a lot of issues i would like answers to but when i post i either get flamed for being a noob or the answer goes straight over my head.

I have 2 crystal Xbox`s x3 and the new pro bank of switches & 200gb drives

I have installed in 2 xboxes one gave me loads of probs so i removed the small circuit board and hard wired instead this cured the probs. I could not see why this was causing me probs.( i am a competant engineer and can solder)

I understand there are 2 banks of 1 meg bios from what i have read.
I flashed the first bank with "X3_1959_v16plus.bin"

I dont know if i am supposed to flash the second bank and if i am with what ?

what switches are supposed to be used for what purpose AFTER the bios has been flashed ? If i alter any i get the error screen up.

I have installed the slayer 2.6 software but i cannot activate the slayer menu. How is this done please ?

please if you care to help be more precise to explain what i need to do next to make use of the x3 and slayer.

cant tell u much about the x3, as far as i know the other banks is just for if u want different bios's on chip. u only need the one you r using atm as theres only the one good x3 bios anyway, i know theres features to protect u from getting banned from xbox live etc, and backup flashbios on it so u can alway reflash ya chip, as for the slayers im guessing u have installed slayers and apps all to F: but u need a bios thats looks to the f: drive for the evoxdash.xbe (file that boots evox) an easy solution would be to reinstall evox from slayers but put evox on c and the rest on f, then it will work.

I have reinstalled like you said with evox on c and then rebooted but still no slayer menu can be seen.

I went into the x3 menu and set it up as c and evoxdash.xbe as first. still not working.
Whats funny is when you go to install slayer it says " slayer AUTO installer" hehe

ive used slayer auto installer 2.6 on about 30 xbox's and its always worked perfect, it does install alot of apps that aint really needed, but its easy to use, all i can suggest is reinstall it again, maybe u select the wrong option as it should work, all i can think is that its installed it to another drive. or if u can, i use x2.6lites so i dont know, but u should be able to make bios look for c:evoxdash.xbe then f:evoxdash.xbe then g:evoxdash.xbe try setting it up like that then if it has installed evox to another drive it should find it, u haven't normally got to select anything in evox to get the dash up after install.

There's several sites selling different version c.kits online, and I've checked out some, but I'm sure there's several other small sites stocking up and slingin' them left and right too; possibly cheaper. If you know of a site selling a dirt cheap version of a connection kit (xecuter, maximus, etc.), or one that is just a general all-around decent priced mod site, share with the forum.

I found Divineo.com to be pretty fair priced on connectivity kits & power dongles - they just got a long-ass shipping time to my neck of the woods [USA-KY].

Anybody wanna toss any in? Peace!

Ive used Divineo they ship in 3 days however no matter what you order shipping is $30. I use them and I also use VGC repairs, theyre affliliated with divineo, but stationed in California. Strangly enough I placed orders with both companys on the same day and the one from Californis took 3 days longer than the one from canada. For reference I live in Chicago. I also had an issue with VGC, but it was handeled readily and overall Ive had goog experience with both places.

I can also vouch for Divineo, ordered a few times from them, never once dissapointed!

Personally I use www.modchip.ca, I think there's also a .com version. Good website too.

Yea Jason, when I checked out Divineo.com, I saw their Maximus Power Dongle for $15, I believe. I put it in my cart, and went thru most of the process to see what the final price was and it said like $23 I think. But it said it'll take 2-8 weeks for shipping. Im only a little south of you (in Louisville, KY) so it shouldn't take too much longer to ship to me then it did you.

Im still looking around though man...if all else fails, Divineo's getting my business! Thanks for the tips ya'll! (yes, Im allowed to say Ya'll...like i said: im from Kentucky!)
