im just turning it on and it gives err code 5 which is HDD unlocked it keeps turning on and off when I turn on the chip

I think by install type he means pin header, wire, or solderless... as for the shutting off when the chip is on, sounds like bad connection on the chip, does it turn on/off twice than frag. If so check your connection to the d0 and possably resolder. Update the bios as well, why are you using such an old bios? Go to the usual places and pick up X2 4983.06 or iND 5003.06, or the new X2 5032 beta... such a nice chip with such an old bios... sad...
