Ok - so I have here a Halo Edition Xbox v1.6 Manufactrued in April of 04. I first tried and Aladdin Live on this box - could not get it to work. Tried many sets of small 30awg wire. No luck - thought it was the chip - took it off XBOX works fine. Ok - order the X3.
X3 shows up - install the pin header with the new final version of the LPC rebuild board. Connect all wires, check my soldering - check for splashes - even cleaned up the entire bottom of the board with alcohol and acid brush. Same problem - FRAG. Tried all the dip switch settings - I get both power lights (5v 3.3v) - but nada when it comes to using this thing. 2nd modchip - same problem. Removed the X3 from the pin header - still frags. Removed the LPC rebuild board - xbox works fine in normal factory mode. WTF am I doing wrong here? All points are soldered well. I don't see any solder overlapping board traces - can't find any broken or damaged traces.
Any ideas anyone?! Or should I sell this damn Halo box and go buy a new xbox?
Thanks
