First I couldn't get my xBox to boot with the chip, those days are over. The xBox boots up fine now, however the screen stays blank. Same thing for debug mode. I'm using component video right now and I'm worried that might have something to do with it so I tried it with a standard RCA hookup and the same thing happend. Boots up great when chip is ignored. What could it be?

YES!!! I have a v1.6b motherboard. So how do I get the flashBios 3.03 on there then if I can't see anything? What are my options?

as we have been posting for 4 weeks now - you need to be checking your xbox version and then ask your seller to upgrade the mod to flashbios v3.03 if you have a v1.6b

if you havent done this then you will just get a blank screen. you need to get a freind with an older xbox and do a hotswap flash or send it to your seller for reflashing.

yeah sorry.

I just wasn't about to send it back to the seller and I wasn't sure what a 'hotswap' was but I think I can figure it out.

One thing I've been unable to find though is if I reflash my chip with flashBios 3.03 should I leave it at 256k or should I make it 1MB with bios manager or does it even matter?

Re: laptop and jf

There is actually a different set of drivers called uniATA. Sorry but I don't have a link of those drivers right now.

a pcmcia card can only operate within a windows enviroment, and for the via ports to show up, drivers need to be installed and working, but the via drivers will cause freezing but faking uniata drivers as via drivers, allow the pcmcia card to function.
A via pci card that jungleflasher refers to, will function with a status 39, drivers removed and even outside the windows enviroment and dos, thats the difference between the two.
