I believe i did everything right let see where i went wrong
I'm trying to upgrade my firmware
As far as setting up the media, i use ixtreme 1.2
and just made it like you would the first time, i thought thats what it meant in the textbook guide.

I did the idump 1234567 12345
waited for a menu
Then i turned the xbox off
selected the drive
Turned on the drive
waited until i saw reboot your pc now

I power cycled both the xbox and the pc

I did iflash 1234567 12345
waited for the menu
Turn it off
then selected the drive and powered it back on
and then i got the image below

i have a single blinking red right in the lower right corner?
What did i miss???

Try powering on the xbox 360 when the PC is done booting off the CD... BIOS may be freezing cuz it cannot figure out what the thing is that is plugged and powered on in it's SATA port but the Boot cd will.

I'm not sure exactly what your saying, but i have done what is asked in the textbook tutorial.
Which was wait until the cd loads hit enter, answer yes, and direct the prompt to C:/Iprep
and then booting the xbox 360

It's the same result, no matter when i boot the 360 it always freezes, i tried when boot the PC, right after the cd has loaded. It all the same it just feezes.

mmm thats strange... Usually My PC Freezes when I have the xbox 360 on and am trying to boot into slax or something else but it won't leave the BIOS Screen that shows @ boot unless the xbox 360 is off I think it has a hardtime detecting what is in the Sata port when it's left on and BIOS is left to do the detectin so I always turn on the xbox after I've sucessfully booted off the CD and left the BIOS Screen.

Disregard what i've typed, thanx to the updated textbook i have a better handle on what i'm doing.

I found a way to test the card. it works great, but i am still having problems updating my xbox 360. Please help.

After you boot, mount the c: drive (you did that part correctly)

then type cd iPrep (you forgot this part)

then you should be able to run iDump or iFlash
