ok i recently recieved my x3 lcd and pro switch, which in the box looked good as.
into my 1.4 it goes everything went as planned all good joints tested with meter, 3 and 5 volts leds on, checked power/eject for bad soldering all good, power on (quick) = frag
eject = frag
both eject and power = nothing at all.

checked all the included wiring making sure they were not broken all ok ? : ( getting really pissed off now..... gave up!

go to the store buy a brand new 1.6 paying special attention to the soldering etc... tested with meter, and all the above f**king thing still doesnt work, pull it off the board boots to ms dash, MY CONCULSION THE CHIP IS f**kED IM PISSED OFF, WHAT THE ODDS OF A NEW SHIP FROM THE SUPPLIER?

ps i was very careful and even discharged my static so ive run out of ideas.

set your dip settings to 0n 0n 0ff 0ff see if that helps

umm, if u just bought a new xbox to try it on to see if it will give problems, then yea it will because chances are that you bought a 1.6b. If you do think the chip is faulty I would call or email the seller telling them whats going on and getting them to replace the chip bc if you did everything right then you should be getting something on the screen when u boot backup.

ok just borrowed a mates xbox reflashed my akira and installed with the x3 wiring that was still in there worked first go got the blue xbox screen went to dash, no then why when i put the new x3 in it frags? .....
again another reason why i think its a bad one.

what bios (if any) are you running on the x3?, if the new box is 1.6b it will boot fine to ms dash (long press), and do nothing with quick press. you need flashbios 3.0.3 and/or latest _v16 bios for it to work on 1.6b.

final probability, it was damaged, either physically or magnetically during transit to you

why u dont tell us if its an 1.6b or not?????


1.6b has a specific release date and the power/eject cable is brown instead of yellow....

He's right it mightof gotten damaged in transit but I know it couldn't of been faulty because every single x3 is fully tested before it leaves the manufacturer, but if it is faulty why are you still testing it if your so shore? call or email the reseller and have them replace it

it has a a brown cable for the dvd so must be a 1.6b
but eject and power at same time doesnt do anything at all

also i am in contact with the supplier now trying to work this out

im also testing it still because i to am sure they are tested b4 delivery i just want to rule everything out, because posting chips back and forth is a pain in the arse.

another thing just now i booted my 1.4 to evox m8
ran slayers went to bios flash
swap the chip put x3 in now didnt matter what jumpers the switch was set to the same message came up ,

!! flash not writable!!

wait flash not writable.... do you have the flash protect switch on? if so turn it off.

just to let you know.... brown dvd cable doesnt mean 1.6b.... brown eject/power cable means 1.6b although this is not sure...

to be sure that you have 1.6b your xbox must have Hynix ram instead of samsung...

Theres a switch on the chip as well for protecting the bios. Try that one as well
