green purple screen. SCREEN SHOTS ADDED

Hi guys. im new here. im having this problem with my xbox 360,that when i insert dvd movies on my xbox 360 and play it, it shows a green and purple screen, and its producing weird sound. and will only play for a short time then it will freeze. also when i put the wave 4 disc, and the text that says insert the xbox 360 dvd.... it is shown in green and purple screen. and i think its also the reason why when i play games like NBA 2k, it doesnt show replays, and the halftime reports.. soo plss can you help me?

sounds to me like your gpu is on its way out.

nooo. that only happens when i insert the wave 4 disc and dvd movies. but when playing games, theres really no problem, except nba 2k11.

Rrod is on the way. When the GPU is under increased usage this is just one of the many effects.

this is correct the the gpu is failing hence the bad purple graphics on the screen this is simple to fix with the xclamp fix and new thermal paste applied

shet. I've had this problem ever since i bought my xbox and I taught its just because of the wave 4 disc. THANKS btw, Is it better if i fix it on my own, or just bring it to a xbox 360 repair shop???

Bring it to a repair shop. If you want a good, permanent fix, ask for a reball. You can also get a reflow done, which is cheaper, but may not last more than a year.

Guys I wouldnt waste my money on temporary repairs . Ebay is filled with decent consoles fairly cheap due to slim coming out .

Jasper are safer but not immune .

Reball is when you put new solder balls on GPU/CPU and rework back onto PCB (motherboard)

how old is the console if its less than 3 year old and still got warranty sticker om send it back to m$

you can try all that will happen is they will send it back untouched iv sent backaround 5 flashed consoles that they have repaired
