I tried posting this in the official thread but I do not have access. I just got my drive today which shows in my device manager as ATAPI iHAS124 C ATA device. I believe this is supposed to show B, is there a firmware released for C yet?

As stated previously in the front page news the B Revisions have been Discontinued and the Rev C now live with most suppliers and it is also stated they will never be flashed with fw.

I think it's being worked on as we speak.
Again no news from C4eva on your theory, Ubergeek has stated this
"Just in case you guys didn't know, all stocks out of Liteon factory are now Rev C and cannot be flashed with burnermax nor will they ever be."

I missed that thank God I got one from dubbs.

OP check with rdubbs in the advert section. He's extremely fast at shipping and a really good guy. I got mine in three days works a charm.

I would be interested in seeing if the pcb from rev B is interchangable with other liteon models or lasers from other liteon's are interchangable with rev B drive.

I have a perfectly working rev B drive that I had for nearly 5 months now and another spare brand new unit so got nothing to experment with yet!

I don't need to google it cause I already know about it. As I said I'm more interested in finding if the above parts are interchangable as we already know about the cross flashing.

I tried to swap the laser and mechanic between iHAS324B with iHAS324C. The result: my drive pop up smoke,, sh*t. The laser flexible cable burned, luckily my 324B board not damaged.

there was ultimately going to be some changes through revisions. smaller parts = maybe swappable, whole sections like the laser assembly = not likely.
