RGH J-Runner and drive swapping on slimline.

So a few months back I was given a Xbox 360 slimline, with a broken messed up dvd-drive(0401),drilled method gone very bad (they destroyed the chip) and didnt create a dummy.bin , its completely un-dumpable and unreadable.

Not a problem I originally thought, I would just glitch it, get the DVD-key and redo the drive, forgetting that its a slimline and it needs more info than just a dvd-key to create a working FW due to the new security checks.

Never got it working.

A few days ago you released J-runner, and I thought I would try out "Patching" the nand with a DVD-Key that I have on another DVD-Rom(0271) aswell as editing the osig to match.

The software worked great, it patched the new dvd-key(visible in xell) and changed the osig as intended, but unfortunately the drive is still a no go :/ , detects all games (original or backup) as dvd discs, same as before.

I presume it doesnt fix or patch the information needed for the new security checks on slimline consoles(0401 drive), is this correct?

If so is there any way I can extract the other information needed to create a working dummy.bin from the nand(or key vault) ?

If its stored in the key vault can I use a doner key vault and get the drive working?

PS Not a noob but I need to post here due to having less than 25 posts, so if a mod wants can they move this to the correct section?

In simple answer to your question is still NO. The drive is no go, you'll just have to play your games of the HDD after converted to GOD or use that board for experimenting.

Thank you for the quick response :)

Thats understandable, I will wait till they manage to extrapolate or change the security responses some day.

PS what would the complicated answer had been?

Why dont you just create an image and specify the -nofcrt flag? I have been in your same position and fixed 3 consoles so that they played games just fine.

1. Get a new working drive and get its DVDkey.
2. Change the DVDKey of your NAND using 360 Flash Tool.
3. Create a new 14719 NAND file from the NAND edited above. Specify the -nofcrt flag.
4. Flash NAND, watch your console play games again.

**EDIT: tthis works as long as the drive isnt 1175 which needs fcrt.

**EDIT 2: Just realized you are trying to keep the console stock. The above posters are right, you cannot generate a dummy file and keep the console stock.

You can however keep the console glitched and working fine.

Worked Flawlessly!!!

The system is now reading every disc I trow at it, I dont mind keeping it glitched :)

PS I used J-runner to do everything though.

1. Created Patched nand with J-runner
2. Selected dash 14719, and install Dashlauncer patches
3. Tools -> Enable No fcrt patch
