I have updated my nand-x today to v3 via the special USB cable

has Red and yellow light on.

Slim QSB and cool runner is soldered in, I'd say the points look good.

Nand will not not dump in J-runner.

can not continue
can not continue
can not continue

this is driving me crazy.

I've also put a QSB in another slim mobo to see if it would dump but nothing

help please

Have you tried dumping with NandPro v3?

Do a test dump (nandpro usb: -r1 nand.bin) and if you get a Flash Config of 00023010 and a valid NAND output, then your soldering isn't the issue.

probably going to sound like a daft question but, do you have the power lead plugged in?
yep

I believe its all installed properly, I used the drivers on here. I used flash magic and the tut to upgrade it.

it configured the coolrunner fine when I tried that.

I had this same problem the first time when the coolrunner came out. hense why i got ticked off and payed someone else to finish off.

Try reprogramming the nandx.
TrY diffirent cables and double check your soldering, use multimeter to check also.
Try using another computer and nandpro
These helped me in same suitiation.
Maybe direct soldering to board with another cables will help.
I hope you solve it soon

Nand-x sounds faulty, I have read quite a few threads on here with people saying there's have stopped working, but that's normally after powering on the xbox with it still connected

Yup...

Powering on an Xbox while the Nand-X is connected to it is just like playing Russian Roulette.

That's why I've got about 7 Nand-X's....because when you're an idiot like me and routinely forget to unplug it...you don't want to be up **** creek without a paddle.

Like your thinking, I might have to invest in a few more, because i am bound to do it

right, i've uninstalled the driver and tried to reinstall it and it

driver is not intended for this platform.
What version of windows are you running? Where are you getting the drivers from?

The Nand-X will light up and do all the wonderful things it normally does, but it just won't work if it is dead.

That's the one bad thing, you cannot tell a good one from a bad one until you try to use them.

I've normally got to write on them "BAD" in black sharpie so I know...because they will give me that wonderful "Cannot detect flash controller" with one Nand-X, and it'll read with the other.

my nand-x has survived several "power-ons" even mid read/write. still going strong

i know what you must be thinking, MID READ!? WTF?

well because i shorted something on the xbox wich made it power on by itself and that gave me quite a few errors. luckilly a already had a good nand.
