I am running on Windows 8.1 and whenever I try to update J-Runner to the latest version(which according to the J-Runner output window is "Version v0.3 Beta (7)") by clicking the "New Version Available" button at the top it corrupts the J-Runner program and I get these prompts when I try to run J-Runner again:

and when I try to run as administrator I get this error prompt:

Here is the log info from the updaterlog.txt file:
Code:
System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable
   at System.Diagnostics.Process.StartWithShellExecuteEx(ProcessStartInfo startInfo)
   at System.Diagnostics.Process.Start()
   at System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(ProcessStartInfo startInfo)
   at updater.Program.Main(String[] args)C:\Users\Me\Desktop\J-Runner v3 (5) Core Pack\JRunner.exe

Help would be much appreciated, thanks .

Win XP is the best OS for this kind of work.
While Windows XP is a very stable OS, "this kind of work" runs fine on Windows 7 and Windows 8 / 8.1.

OP: Delete the "C:\Users\<username>\Appdata\Local\Mama's_Little_Bakery" directory (enable hidden files and folders first) and download a clean version of J-Runner.

might also want to try disabling any antivirus while trying to update.

Just tried this, it didn't work. :/ Also J-Runner.exe and updater.exe are both in my AV's exception list but it still doesn't work.

just download it again here ->> https://mega.co.nz/#!9ppmTbYD!4P4O1crzJLRxso_dpOqPwEkqV5tVjnjT3S7AFPojFDk
and re install it. after you start j runner do the fresh update. although jrunner does work with windows 8 it is sometimes unstable
Why does your J-Runner download have a different hash than the one posted here?
http://team-xecuter.com/forums/thre...-Ultimate-JTAG-RGH-App-*LATEST-DOWNLOAD-HERE*

compare the hashes, from the official latest download:

and the one you posted:

aside from that re-downloading wont help, I already tried that.

its one i chose for you just at random. yes you can download from the tx link but if none of the fresh downloads are working for you then as others have said it might be worth trying on a different windows version or another pc/laptop altogether
