j-tag redemption...

well hello team X my name is junior im known as siiNNiiSTer on xbox live. i got into modding/jtaging about a year ago. i was drawn in by the lobbies on modern warfare 2 and looking to make money (ye totally the wrong reasons) so i did my research and found out how to do the hack n what not. talking to a co-worker thats a gamer as well i found out he had 3 old consoles 2 rrod and 1 disk read error. so i had him get me the manufacture dates off them. 2 of them had early 2009 late 2008 dates so of course my eyes lit up. i took the consoles off his hand took them home fixed the rrod and check the dash kernel and got really excited , 2 out of the 3 consoles were infact jtaggable 1 xenon and the other falcon. with no soldering exp i got to work hacking up a lpt cable and soldering away. my 1st attempt wuz on the falcon. i guess my contacts to the nand were bad idk i wuz able to boot into xell if i remember correct but couldnt get freeboot on there so i gave up on that console and went on to the xenon. did a little research on soldering and i was able to correctly jtag the xenon infact i hosted ALOT of lobbies on mw2. i even used the kv out of the falcon to host. and since then i feel that ive helped ruin what could have been a great game by hosting lobbies and vowed to myself never again to do that (ive been playing black ops legit with my god awful 0.70 kill/death ratio lmao)

so now for the redemption part... im getting ready to purchase a nand X kit. a friend in modding told me that id be able to redo the falcon with it. and hopefully ill be able to fix the xenon. the xenon has a bad flash from when i tried to update to the new freeboot dash when it wuz launched in november right before black ops. im going to sell the xenon but im keeping the falcon because i want me and my family to be able to enjoy the jtag for the right reasons, loading emulaters and playing classic games from nintendo atari sega being able to play campaign modes with unlimited ammo and so on. i basically wanna do everything i can with a jtag get all the fun out of owning 1. so i have this kool idea of getting a clear acrylic cube case for a pc and making it the housing for the falcon adding fans for good air circulation, big hd from a pc, and leds to light things up and make it all pretty.

im sorry if it seems i rambled on but i wanted whoever read this and decided to give me advice to basically know the whole situation. thank you very much for everything team X has done for the modding community and thanks in advance for any advice and help i recieve from u guys n gals (im sure theres hawt modder chix on this site) please post any ideas or tips u may have to help me redeam myself. i really do feel like a douche for the reason i got into modding in the 1st place

lol @ the modder chix siiNNiiSTer alot of the suff you are asking is in the homebrew support already alls it is is abit of a read grab a coffee bro there is plenty on Jtagging and trouble shooting here you say one has a bad flash ya is it dead as in no life ?
If so you might be able to short out the nand and reset it but it can be abit tricky to get it off but its doable big_ted has info posted on it >> big_ted Bad Flash To Nand ? How To Recover ! but as i said most what you are asking if not all is already here its just a bit of a read.

ye this post wuz more of a getting sumthing off my chest than asking for help and a bit of an intro to the site. i scrolled through the homebrew section and basically found eveything i need to finish the falcon and fix the xenon. ye johnny the xenon red rings after i tried to update it when i did the trouble code check (counting the rol blinks) idr the exact code but when i looked it up it wuz bad flash

when i started to do the falcon jtag i did it at my brothers house since my pc doesnt have a lpt port. well his pc recently got a virus and my original nand dump is gone. i do however have the rawkv.bin, kv_dec.bin, kv_enc.bin and the cpu key because i unbanned the xenon with the falcons kv. i did some reading and found that i can use sumone elses original nand i just have to inject the falcons kv into it. is this true or do i have a big paper weight on my hands?

Yes, you can use a donor NAND and inject your KV into it to make an original NAND image for your console. But the donor NAND needs to have the same CB, CD, CE etc as your original NAND, otherwise it won't work.

if i remember correctly the cb version wuz 7371 but im not 100% sure. i beginning to think that this falcon would be better off going to somebody with alot more knowledge on jtagging than me but i really want to fix it myself so i can learn

you can use cool shrimp Jtag tool to get clean nands if you cant find what you need..

i have yet another lil issue.... more of a goof up on my part. when i took these 3 consoles a part i kinda forgot to mark which dvd drive goes to wut console. well i think i have an idea of which drive goes to the falcon based on the manufacture date on the consoles case and the manufacture date on the dvd drive but still not 100%. i know i dont even really need the drive in the console because ive been using the xenon with out a drive in it at all. but i would like to have a working dvd drive in them problem is all 3 of these drives like halfway eject n dont work. thats the 1 modding area ive never dove into and havent the slightest clue about. is there anyway to fix any of these drives? i wouldnt mind a flashed drive in my jtag

In a Jtag, the DVD drive checks are removed, and you can literally just put any Xbox360 DVD drive, whether flashed or not in your Jtag, and it should work without any problem.

thnx Azeem. i also asked if the drives can be fixed by flashing them. they are faulty only open halfway one of them makes a horrid noise when u put a disk in

Flashing is a software related process, while the things you're describing seem more like to be related to the hardware side. In such a case, exactly flashing a drive won't do anything.

Well when doing the Jtags first off you would have got the CPU & Dvd Key in Xell so you can put any drive you like in in does not matter as you have the key just Manually Spoof the key in JungleFlasher to what ever Firmware your putting on the drive or just put any drive in it has no checks lol.
You say the drive is half way eject, just a guess that could just be a small rubber band for opening and closing the tray open the casing on the drive and manually eject the tray you will see the small rubber take it off ether replace it or just boil some water and put it in for a few mins it will shrink it back to size.
If they were flashed before then it could be a bad flash to the drive reflash it..

they aint never been flashed before thats the one area of modding i have yet to dance with lol. the only console i have the dvd key from XeLL is the xenon (imma be so happy to sell that dam thing lmao) i guess for the falcon ill just get a replacment drive. theres a guy here in my area that does flash service i may just go get a flashed drive from him for the falcon. seeing as the jtag removes the checks itll be a quik swap out and im done. seriously thnx alot for u guys's advice n support Team X rocks!

If there is a guy you know and knows what his doing then i'm sure them drives can be sorted out i know i could, very little goes wrong with them that can't be fixed unless they were burnt out which there not as they are powering up for you.
