I am having trouble with this single falcon board. I soldered the nand wires but i cannot dump the nand it is not recognized. The console works fine and has the lower dash.

I have tested all the points and they test fine. I even did the rebuild anyways and i still cannot read with nandx. I did 5 more consoles using the same wires afterwards so i know the wires are fine.

The CPU was transplated onto this board, but since it works fine, i find no reason why that would affect the reading of nand.

Pictures would be nice is what's the error USB device not recognized or cannot detect flash controller if the wires are out take picture of both sides of both NAND points.

I would like to see the condition of the board. Minus the wires or any connections. What dash is it on.

Dumb question time was it plugged in with orange light on brick?

Also was jtag wiring on at time of NAND dump

i just resoldered the wires and i get could not detect flash controller, keep in mind i just did 3 jtags with the same tools with full success

yes it is plugged in and i turned it on to make sure, turned it off and then connected nand x with usb

i had 2 like that a while back on one i soldered the nand x wires on the same sides as the traces i think it was 2 on the top of the board and 5 on the bottom

on another i had to get creative and solder kynar wire to the traces but got it working in the end on that one i could not write xell to block 9 and had to find out how to remap block 9 in xell and freeboot

Remove the jtag wiring. I have had multiple falcons that did this when jtag wiring was in and attempting to dump the NAND. Try putting the wires through the back side of the board and make sure they are trimmed well. Specifically with the transistor method causes issue while dumping NAND.

Good rule of thumb is to always dump NAND then install jtag wiring. Unless it's the tx jtag kit which you can disable.

just as an fyi for myself why does the transistor method cause issues??

are they maybe going through the bottom of the mobo and toucjing the chassis.
impossible as its not in the metal cage, just the board on my hard tile floor

I honestly dont know the specifics but learned through trial and error that it was screwing up reading the NAND with it in. I had an awful time when I had wiring in and tried to dump my first falcon. When I learned I read multiple places not to have the wiring in until after NAND dump

I know you are confident of the wiring, and I am not saying its bad soldering. I had this problem today and was totally confident of my soldering.Ditched soldering directly to board and installed pin headers.Connected nandx and dumped my phat jasper nand no bother.(It is a no dvd key I picked up from ebay. Just waiting for coolrunner to come out)

i have always used wires so i threw away the pin stuff, so that options not for me, gonna try the cygnos v2 and report back

in my past experiences i never had an issue with wiring and dumping nand but i suppose its quite possible
