Hi Guys!

I was lurking around the forums and became very interested in the RGH now that my phatbox is out of warranty. I currently own a jasper. My main purpose is to play games off the HDD and UNDUB games that I have already downloaded. I have a couple of questions that hopefully you guys can help me out. Thanks!

1. I am currently on dashboard 2.0.13604.0. Is this still RGH able?

2. I noticed on the Nand-X retail packaging that it came with the JTAG J2D2 QSB. On a video i don't see it installed such as Jonnygunz video. Is it necessary to solder the QSB onto the board as well? or do just install the J1D2 and J2B1 only?

3. Is there a need for a custom dashboard or can I use the official one?

4. I have been trying to find the memory size for my jasper but all I see if the 120 GB. I noticed on jtag tool there is only a 16, 256, 512 mb. Is that going to be an issue once I get started?

Thanks for taking the time to read and once again Thanks!

In your Nand
1. Dashboard version doesnt matter, current Dashboard works with RGH!
2. Just follow the video step by step or pictures
3. Yes
4. Mine says 120GB as well so your jasper is 16MB then :)

Thanks oO Elite Oo!

Is there a perferrable guide that you suggest? Also is there a specific way to double check the memory size?

No, just the memory section. You have a 16mb if there nothing else listed.

Just be prepared and -know- if you know how to solder. If you don't just fork out the cash and pay someone. Couple of those points for beginners can be a pain.

I think this is a more acurate response to your post.

1) Check here if you box is RGHable

Must dump nand to see CB number.

2) You can use the QSB's from nandx kit to RGH but will have to solder a couple of extra wires to do RGH (you see the RGH QSB ha a long arm on one of the boards)

3) You can update dash before you RGH even to the newest dash but I think after you RGH you need to use a special procedure to update to an even newer dash (link below I think applies to dashes above 14699).

4) I think if you unplug your 120gig HD and boot it will show what memory is on board.

Thanks TilVl, xboxhack11

I saw the video and decided to have a professional do it.

So what's the purpose of the JTAG J2D2 chip included with the kit? I understand that the 2 PHAT QSB must be installed to RGH but if the RGH takes care of the JTAG then whats the purpose of the J2D2? I'm so confused:facepalm:

Sorry for the noob questions. I'm a First Timer.

It's different. Nand-x came out when there wasn't a RGH. Only Jtag. They were used then. You'll will need to get QSB for PHat RGH Install. It'll have the long arm.

Dude. You're NOT going to use J2D2. They were used for jtag. You're soldering something in that would NEVER be used.

The J2B1 is the one you DONT need the RGH QSB but the RGH is been redesigned to make soldering the STBY_CLK easier.

TILVI I know you dont use jtag qsb's that come with Nandx. I was refering to the nandx qsb that comes with the nandx. I just bought one and it comes with 4 QSB boards.

Correct. J2B1, J1D2, J2D2 and DB1F1

J2B1 is the same area the RGH QSB goes but was originally used for jtags. Now the redesign for the phat RGH QSB is been made for the STBY_CLK. If you're using the QSB in the first place then trying to half ass it and not using the RGH QSB is retarded and not advised.

TIVI I agree if it is your first install. But if you already had the nandx QSB boards installed why remove it and risk damage. For instance, I bought a nandx to remove a flag, not to Jtag.

Guy that doesn't make sense. We know this is his first time, we know he wants to RGH. So why confuse him? No reason too. I understand your theory but it's not needed for the OP.

I guess you are right Tilvi being his first time, but it occurred to me that there must be some people that buy all the stuff to Glitch and later find out that their Jasper or Falcon is not the right CB number - http://img802.imageshack.us/img802/8560/identifypowerjtglitchv1.png.

The only way to know I understand is dump the nand. So it makes sense to buy a nandx first and dump the nand and see if you box is Glitchable first before you buy everthing. Just a thought.
