Jap PSP's don't play US Movie UMD's?!

I've been getting into some hardcore PSP research lately and I just now discovered this by an eBay auction..... Is this actually true?!

It's make sense... I haven't seen anything about it though...

In the specs it says it has regional locks... it'd seem like a jap one wouldn't play US vids... sorry.

Damn, so basically my efforts for getting a Jap PSP were worthless, I might as well go trade it in to Gamestop for another one....a 1.5 that is.

Another question, I got a Memory Stick Duo 32mb Stick coming with the PSP, is that Universal?

That sucks kimosabe about the whole PSP thing. It's true, all UMD's are region coded while the games are not. Also, while a game from Japan or anyplace else will work on a US PSP or vice versa, the multiplayer portion of it will not. As far as the memory stick is concerned, that should work with all PSP's.

<sigh> Oh my god... how many people are going to keep repeating this statement? It's like I see it posted in each and every "PSP based" thread. Please... can we give it a rest? Even somewhat? C'mon... we all know they will get to it when they can. And besides, "good things come to those who wait!" LOL
