RGH Jasper(16) has stopped READING/WRITING nand

Hi, This Jasper has been giving me a headache from day one.

I successfully glitched it last night but it was getting very slow booting time (1min and up) and random freezes at boot so i was trying different dash's and found the multibuilder v0.4 had the best result (less freezes) so i said good it's done only to find that this morning the 360 wouldn't even turn on(no lights, fans, nothing) let alone boot .
So i double checked everything and all looked good and then decided I'll flash the nand again maybe that could be it.
Hooked up my trusty nand-X, created the nandflash.bin try to write to the nand and
NandPro v3.0a by Tiros

Looking for usb interface device
Can not continue
It's like the nand died.

Redid and checked my soldering with a multimeter and it's good.
I've read that sometimes this happens and the nand cant be read or written to with the nand-x and the only solution is the LPT method.

Can someone confirm this or let me know what's going on?

Thanks

ok, does not sound good, during the time it was working well, did you remove power from back and then try it again? I only ask as I had a similar issue a few weeks ago, it was fine unil i unplugged it and then plugged it back in again.

I would double check firat though that a wire has not come loose or moved.

Thank for the quick reply.
I did, after every flash i took the power out for 30 second and it was ok. It worked every time.
Last night i took the power out and left it until this morning when i checked it and it was dead.
The only signs of life is the red light on the glitch thats all.

Don't know what the devil happened to it from last night.

Oh, i checked all the wires and are all good. Even tried with a second nand-x and i have 2 of them.

No deal!
I tried the external power trick but it didn't work, same story. It got me all excited when i plugged in the usb(5v) as the red light on the coolrunner turned on but still nothing.

If this didn't work i doubt the pin shorting will.

Any other ideas on how to fix this PITA?

How about the LPT method? I'll have to built the lpt cable though.

The one with the nand? I have used the other one which didn't have the nand i think it was the rev F. I haven't got any though and tbh i dont like em. You really think it would work?

Ok good news i got a hold of a used cygnos but it's got 4 lifted pads though so I gotta find some alt points, no biggy. I'll give it a shot.

Ok one problem solved, I got the jasper to actually turn on.
The problem was a small tiny cant see with the naked eye tin hair of solder that was shortening two points of the coollrunner qsb. The multimeter just barely picked it up!

So anyway this problem is solved but others have arisen. Now i think the nand might still be the culprit for this problem. When the Jasper actually boots into dash (9/10 it freezes especially with the hdd on) the temps go wild with the CPU going up to 94 degrees then overheat rrod! But the heatsink feels normal like it should.

Why could this be? Bad flash? Im afraid that if i flash it again it would be it's last.

You've likely broken the 'seal' between the heatsink and the CPU. Replacing the thermal paste on the CPU and GPU should fix you up.

Thats not it but thanks. I've made another observation, When i boot it w/o the hdd the temps are normal around 44-46 degrees. This is strange man! I'll do some more troubleshooting and hopefully find the problem.
