Jasper 16MB does sometimes random crazy stuff on boot

What did you have set when you got the postout log from the op?

Flick 78 and 4 on. No jumper. Switch it on and post the rater log.

Instant rrod is not always a good sign. You had from what it looks like in op 'alrightish' postout. Hitting post 22 etc.

Post the log from 4 on

First was DIP1 with no voltage tuning and 2nd was DIP2 with no voltage tuning aswell.

Okay I'll try that next.

Situation changed:

RROD is gone (I resoldered i2c's scl).

Now I tried to monitor post on DIP 4 as DreamZ suggested but my JR only lights up red led. If I unplug the connection to the r-jtag chip (and nand wires still connected) the led is green and nand read is possible.

Btw: I also redumped the nand to check it against the freeboot image. They are identical.

edit: I connected the jr to the pc with only nand wires connected (green led) and then added the r-jtag chip connection (led still green) now post monitoring is possible.

Started up Rater and got:

Code:
Overall: 5 / 5
Average: 1,00
Median: 1
Score: 10,00

Cycle 1 - 100,00%

100% within 1 Cycles
However if I unplug the jr (both r-jtag connection and nand wires) from my console it's much worse sometimes it needs up to 8-9 cycles.

Anyone seen this strange issue before?

Okay found DIP 2 with no voltage tuning works best with no JR hardware connected. I'm already happy that this damn thing boots <5 cycles :D

But another issue is back. Something causes the xbox to automatically power on and off. Sometimes not, sometimes after ~10 mintes, sometimes longer.

During gameplay or just anytime?

Anytime, auto power off was during gameplay, in normal dash and in freestyle dash aswell. Automatic power on as soon as power cord is connected is back too. However it's also able to power itself on after auto powering off with random delay aswell.

First i thought power off is a temperature problem but fans are full speed and temps are good.
CPU <= 41°C, GPU <= 46°C, MEM <= 43°C, Case <= 32°C

Some of my speculations:
Could a bad rf board (or bad rf board connection) cause a power on/off signal, because the rf board looks very loose if its not attached to the case.
Could some noise on the cpu_rst wire cause the console to boot? May the alternative cpu_rst point solve this problem?
Maybe there is still some noise (or other stuff) going on on the i2c bus which now tempt the r-jtag chip to power on the console?
Maybe noise on post out trick the r-jtag chip to do crazy stuff?

Anything feasible?

edit: if JR is connected to console the auto power on/off stuff didn't happen at all.

Today I resoldered every point on the qsb's including the wires from the chip. Checked every connection with a multimeter.
All good but still no change. Boot times are totally okay (1-3 cycles).

However this damn thing powers itself on and off randomly.
Sometime it doesnt even boot up completely because it turns off itself so quick.

I already checked the pullup resistor R2P12. Its ~8,5kOhm (messured in place). Pullup resistor R2P13 has the same value.

I am at my wit's end.

Nobody an idea?
