Jasper 16MB Freezes

Got some problems with a Jasper 16MB (with QSB) which is freezing. Sometimes I can play for hours and sometimes it freezes after 10mins. I have Dash Launch and FSD, have tried both 2.0 and 2.2. I used FIB3R's guide to do the RGH without any problems.

I have routed the wires away from the coiles as much as possible. I have tried different positions but still freezes.

Could it be something with the soldering? I just want to ask before I start to solder on it again.

pics of your install please!
Well, that's the problem. I don't have a camera at the moment so I was wondering if it has anything to do with the soldering (any special point)? I will redo the soldering and test it again if that might work.

Thanks for a fast reply!

ok - can you take a pic of the back of the board? Need to see where you have the wires routed?

Also, the amount of exposed wire you have on the solder points can affect the console especially since they are quite close to other components.

We need pictures showing how are the wires running along the board not just the point it soldered at, specially the green and blue wires that run along the bottom of the board we need to see how they are run.

you should really use flux when your soldering.
I know, I'm actually using it but a really bad one. I have ordered a new one so I hope it's better quality than the last one. Flux seem to be really hard to find here in Sweden. I'm also using tin with build-in flux. I just started solder, I did it some in school but not much so I'm new to it and still learning.

Thanks for your suggestion though!

Try to remove the green wire a little bit down towards the blue one, say 1cm or less. I got a 512mb jasper that I had the green wire running a little bit higher than yours and it was freezing within minutes from boot up. After re-aligning the green one it now works just fine.

An update on this.

I have rerouted the wires so they are pretty much like the picture Uber posted and I resoldered the green wire. I also cut it a little bit (thanks Martin C for the suggestion) so it shouldn't get any interference from any other component now. It works perfectly, boots in about 5 secs and haven't freeze yet (been playing for about 5 hours)
