Hi, just rgh'd my jasper 512 everything seems fine until I try to load a game off the internal hdd, it will freeze within a couple of minutes. The hdd is off my jtag xenon and not reformatted. It also can take a couple of tries to boot up the xbox. I ran the cables as in JonnyGuns video.
Should I start by attaching a cap and see if this helps or try rerouteing the green cable. Thanks

You could try reformatting your drive.

The cap may help. But it is mainly for boot speed. Not system stability. As once the coolrunner has glitched the 360 to boot your dash or unsigned code it is finished with.

What are you launching your games through. Dashlaunch, fsd...

Also. Does the 360 freeze when you play your original through the drive.

I was playing the game from the xex menu. I haven't loaded dashlaunch yet. I will borrow a game and try loading it tomorrow.

Borrow a game?

Don't you have 1 game you can try? You obviously have games on your hd
Nope new to this, bought an old xenon that rrod within days, so now have a new 09 jasper. Borrowed 1 game of off one of the kids friends but have since given it back!
I like to tinker, the kids like to play.

I've actually had the capacitor cause some freezing on a 16mb jasper. I would try moving the positioning of the blue wire. Worth a try. I have found descent success with it routed, and soldered to the top of the board.

If you have the game on a Hard Drive, but do not own the game, you must delete it.

Borrowing is not the same as owning. It is like renting a game from a rental company, transferring it to HD and then returning the disc. It is still Piracy, because you do not own the disc full stop.

You could try the cap issue as suggested above.

The copying of it is illegal under all circumstances but simply borrowing something is not illegal.

Making copies of games you do not own is PIRACY.

This is cut and dry.

The OP stated he borrowed a game.... He has said game on his HDD....
He returned the game to his friend and still has the backup.

Not under all circumstances, You are well within your right to ring the company that holds the rights to the software and obtain their permission before making a backup, If they say yes and you obtain proof, then all well and good.

But if you sell the game, you must destroy any copies you may have.

Borrowing a game, and giving it back and keeping it on your HD is illegal wherever you are.

The OP could also come from a country where, it is perfectly legal to make backups. He has not included a country in his details

okay so I delete the backup I have, purchase a original tomorrow check if the loads okay, if so try moving the blue and green cables and insulate from the board?
Also try the cap fix to see if this helps with the boot times?

ive done many jasper boards and its your wire routing why its freezing...or your wiring has a short... if you read the noob rules you need to post pic so we can help you correctly. P.s the cap is for slow booting issues not stability issues......good luck post pics so we can help you better!

okay, so moved the blue cable slightly had no effect, then moved the green from under the x-clamps and the game freeze is sorted. I will next try the cap fix to see if this sorts out the boot time, at the moment it is anywhere between 5-45 secs or not at all.
I will also try adding extra insulation to the Y,G and B cables.

Try playing a game from CD/DVD/USB (a demo?), cause the freezing could be from an actual hardware problem, not related to RGH (or caused in the process of installing the RGH). Also the HDD could be dying or the SATA port is going bust.

if u solder the cap or if your coolrunner is revision b. its a jumper your boot times should be dam near instant i have a rgh bb512 jasper that boots in under 5 sec every time no need to change your wires.. either solder the cap or the jumper use good tape or hot glue to hold your wires in place and reassemble for use..... :p

p.s. both of my post where correct so plz use the thanks button!!!!!;)
