Jasper 512BB JTAG Alternate Points?

No, I didn't screw things up.... Just yet :p

I've had this brand new Jasper collecting dust for quite a while, and as I'm planning to do quite a few mods I wasn't going to use the point on the RoL/RF PCB anyway.

So I searched for alternate points and found several tutorials, like these 2:
Tutorial - NANDX QSB + JTAG PCB Using Alternate DB1F1 - Clean Install
Alternate JTAG SMC/Points Tutorial

Now I'm wondering what way to go, I'm leaning towards the latter tut because of the points he mentions (4 and 5), but then again I haven't been following any console scene for a while, so I don't know if there are better ways?

Anyone care to shed a light?

Why not just do it the original way with out the alt points? lol

tip: dont grab the motherboard out of the metal cage from the heat sink otherwise you could risk of getting rrod..

Because I may have to take it apart more often than I want to due to some mods, so soldering to the RoL/RF PCB is out of the question.
I also thought about cutting a slit in the casing so I could solder the wire to the bottom of the motherboard the easy way, but then I found the above tuts.

I'm aware of that, I've taken apart a couple 360's and modified/repaired them (I've studied electronics and been modifying consoles since late 90's, only killed my own PS2 in doing so, but I'm still wondering if it had to do with the free chip...actually I got 2 chips for free, no S&H whatsoever...oh well, guess I'll never find out).
Thanks for the tip nonetheless.

Thank you for your reply!

That seems like a good idea, I think I'll give that a try.

Do you happen to know if it'll work with the QSB in place?
I'm pretty sure it will, as it's only 2 resistors a switch, a connector and a jumper, right?
And I can use the switch and jumper to select 0 Ohm, 330/470 Ohm or no connection.

Must be, as I can't think of anything else.
