as you can see, I have lifted the main D pad as well as the secondary pad near the pins, and am now hooked onto the resistor for my D point. I'm having some trouble getting this system to glitch. I have a 470pf cap with a 3.3k ohm resistor wired up in series.

I really just need some advice on how to go about hooking this cap setup to my coolrunner as it sits in this condition with the lifted pads. I'm having a hard time hooking this giant contraption up to that tiny resistor. I tried hooking it up in parallel with one end of the cap to the GND and the other to the tiny resistor but I ended up lifting the resistor off of the board and am now stuck.

is there any way to salvage this coolrunner with the R12 resistor removed?

hmmm interesting.

so how long does it usually take you to glitch a split cb on rgh2?

also, I assume this CR is not going to glitch now with the lifted r12 resistor?

R12 is a 10 ohm resistor.. jumpers 1 and 3 by the R12 resistor has direct continuity to pad D .. so technically you can wire D directly to 1/2 or 2/3 bridge you make .. you can also put in a 10 ohm resistor in-line which will help boot times.. can even go 20 ohms if boot times are slow..

ideally, I'd also go with R-jtag like Bl4k3y said.. you can tweak it and get bad-ass boot times :)

I have just finished a Jasper RGH2 install for a friend (he only had a CR3 Lite) and glitch times are anywhere from the first pulse to about 40 seconds.

I'm sure that R12 resistor is a 10 Ohm resistor which is optional for CPU_RST.

You can try soldering to the correct IC pin (a continuity test from one of the R12 pads to the pins will tell you which one it is), but I wouldn't bother wasting more of your time with the Rev. C.

The R-JTAG method is much more reliable and boot times will be much better.

yea I just tried soldering to that pin and now I'm getting no debug light so I'm not sure what I did. I have one end of my cap soldered to ground, the other end soldered to the IC pin and then I have the CPU_RST soldered just above the IC pin directly to the leg of the cap.

HMMMMMMM....

and yes I know RJTAG would be the best method but the customer is only paying 130 total so it's not really a viable option unless I try to jack the price on him

$70 for parts and $60 for labor, why how much u charge?
I don't think he noticed that your cost is in USD and he's in the UK like me (Yorkshire lads are foreigners to us Lancashire lads :cool2: lol).

That price is equal to about 80 GBP which I think is fair for a complete DemoN install, but some people may charge more.

I think you should tell your customer about R-JTAG because you will spend too much time trying to get the best boot times with RGH2.

yea I've been doing RGH 2 for so long and the only time I ever run into trouble is when I try to add a demon.

I think you may be right and I may have to sell him on the RJTAG, at least for the split cb jasper, he has 2 other falcons which I'm not sure what cb they are yet so he's already in the hole a few hundred.

instead of soldering to the IC pin, you could of done it like below with a 10 or 20 ohm resistor

I tried soldering the cpu rst directly to the 1-2 point but I'm not getting a green debug light any more.
