This isn't my first time Jtagging a console. I have already done 2 Falcon consoles and 1 Xenon.

I got a Jasper (256 MB) on C-list for $35 and it turned out to have the 7371 dash. Since the MFG date was 12/2008, I figured it was probably exploitable. I dumped the first 1000 blocks of the NAND and opened the dump in the 360 Flash tool. The CB value is 6712, confirming that this console IS exploitable. After dumping the NAND again I went on to wiring everything.

This is where I ran into problems. I have wired everything correctly (verified multiple times) using the AUD_CLAMP and OPEN_TRAY (from under the board) wiring methods. Using Jtag Tool v3.00, I wrote Xell after selecting both alternate points in the options menu. I hooked everything back up and booted the console using the eject button and nothing happened. The console will power on and the DVD drive will cycle (but not open) an NOTHING appears on the screen. The middle power light on the RF board stay a solid green while the outer lights do nothing at all.

I figured it was just a bad write so I wrote the original NAND back to the console and flashed Xell again and got the same result.

After having the issue twice, I figured it might be an issue with the Jtag tool. I copied the file 'jasperBBBoth.bin' from the 'Xell Bins' folder in the Jtag Tool install directory and wrote it using Nandpro and got the same result.

I am now running out of ideas. Does anyone know of anything I can try to get this working?

post a pic of your wiring.
I am currently at work. Once I get home I will post a picture.

Before when my wiring was off on the first Falcon console I did, it threw the E79 error. I have never seen the console turn on but do next to nothing after that.

Jasper a little different. I had the same problems but using the Alt wiring. Switching the DB1F1 to Open tray and it worked.

Solid green is most likely your wiring.

I have read that both Jaspers and Falcons need the alt wiring to work properly. I have not used the DB1F1 point at all. Right from the beginning I used AUD_CLAMP and OPEN_TRAY points.

I am starting to think that maybe one of the diodes could be bad.

I see the biggest mistake in the above pictures. You're supposed to solder the AUD_CLAMP wire to Q2N1, not Q2P1......

WEll, I feel like a complete moron. Used the correct point, wrote the correct .bin file (jasperbbBOTH.bin) and it booted right into Xell.

Thank you so much! I created the FreeBOOT image and I am writing it now. That should go fine and hopefully this thread will be closed soon!

^ Good News.

Lol, the magic of posting pics :)

Glad you got it sorted.

PS - please tidy up that soldering before you short something!
Haha, dont you worry. Now taht I am certain that my wiring is correct, the heat-shrink tubing will get put on to prevent any shorts.

Thanks again to everyone for the help!
