I soldered Coolrunner wires to my jasper Im trying to extract the DVD key as I got the console with no DVD drive, but it runs great. Im using j-rprogammerv2 to connect to my coolrunner. I have red light on my coolrunner when I plug the console in. Well when I go to Jrunner and go to READ NAND, it says "can not continue". I guess it doesn't detect my console. My soldering is very very good, I can see that the solder points are good. I just want to get a good working DVD drive for this console so any help would be awesome.

Ive gotten this same error before, I would tell you what it could be but it would be better if I can see the pictures first. You can screenshot it using gyazo. or if not take a picture with your phone, and copy it over to your computer and post it here

I just ordered 2 rjtag starter kits, and coolrunner rev c off of modchip central. I guess ill leave the wires soldered on my board and just switch the fake chip with the authentic coolrunner. Unless the wires are fake too LOL:facepalm:

i was dumb when i first started and i didn't look at the reseller's list and i bought a cr3 lite off of ebay for $20 and i got lucky. it was my first rgh and its still running to this day, i love it.

the main way to tell if its fake as far as my cr3 lite went it has CR3 printed on the main chip on the device.

Go back and look at what YOUR "COOL RUNNER" has printed on the big black chip and compare it to another REAL cool runner and you will see the difference then

read some more about RGH
you need to solder jr-programmer first... then read nand with it... then write ECC and THEN install cool runner on motherboard.
first off... the things you must not doing right are:

1) soldering jr-programmer incorectly.
2) you are not pluging the motherboard with PSU when trying to read nand with jr-programmer.

so lets start from beginning

1) solder jr-programmer coretly on to the motherboard...
2) after - connect PSU to motherboard and then connect jr-programmer to your PC.
3) open J-Runner and try to read nan... selecting correct model of motherboard or let it detect for you.

Ummm yes? You have to solder the JR Programmer to the motherboard if your not using the QSBs. Have a quick Google search on how to use a NAND-X or JR Programmer. The wirring is the same for both.

Edit:

I'm feeling nice tonight. Have a look at this..
