So I'm doing a fresh Jtag on a Jasper 256mb. I followed the steps and did 3 nand dumps all compairing good. I also verified that it is xploitable useing hex editor. So I went ahead and wrote xell to it. Now I hook it up to the tv and turn it on useing the eject button. It turns on but I have no image on screen now. No rrod no errors just no picture on the screen. Any advice?

XeLL can output only via normal A/V cable on TV mode. Using HDTV mode or HDMI won't work, and you'll get a black screen.

I'm using Coolshrimp Jtag tool V2.85. Also I tried using standard video and still get black screen. Funny thing is I rewrote back the OG nand and it boots up fine. I then tried writing xellous and when I booted up using the eject button it just booted up to regular dash. I'm have on a zephyr as well. On that on everytime I write xell I get E79. I'm starting to think that its the Jtag tool.

There's a problem with the Xell for Jaspers on the JTAG tool. Firstly, the Jasper.bin which is in XeLL bins is not for Jaspers - it causes 16MB Jaspers to not boot. No telling what it does to a BB Jasper.

Therefore, just download the Jasper BB XeLL from Xbins and write this to your NAND:

nandpro usb: -w16 jasper-xell.bin

You should then be able to boot into XeLL and get your CPU key.

Norton 360 is a PoS - get shot of it. Avast is free and will do a much better job.

There should be nothing in that file so Norton is reporting a false positive.

I didnt make any progress. For some reason I couldnt get a connection with the Xellbins. it keeps trying to connect and fails. Then I rebooted my computer and now I see that the stupid Norton must have deleted the xellbin again! Im fixen on trying it again.

Still not haveing any luck here. Now that I've tried to write xell and failed I am okay to rewrite my og nand back to the xbox right. Not going to mess anything up will it.
To be honest I allready did rewrite my first nand dump back but it gave me an error writeing block 1778 allthough she did still boot up to normal dash afterwards. Looking at it I may not be getting a great connection to my db1f1 point as that little guy can be a bugger to solder to!

Got connected. I may have forgoten last night to shut off my smart firewall. is the xell bins that I'm looking for going to be in the zip file call XeLLous_v1.0.zip?
No - Xellous is an upgrade to XeLL, but you still need the right SMC and Xell build to use it.

The file you want is

/XBOX 360/development/free60/images/Jasper_6723_hack_256MB_512MB.rar

unrar and program to your NAND.

You don't need Xellous at this stage but if you wanted to use it (means you can connect to httpd to get your CPU key and a full dump of the rest of the NAND should you want it), download the XeLLous in /XBOX 360/development/XeLLous/ and unrar.

Then use NANDPro to write it to your NAND:

nandpro usb: +W16 xell-1f.bin 30

note the + and the capital W - they're important.

db1f1 has nothing to do with reading and writing of the NAND. However if you're having problems with it, it may explain why you're not booting properly.

Tips for soldering small objects:

1. flux both objects.
2. pre-tin both objects (a tiny amount of solder and quickly does it).
3. apply more flux to the smallest object - in this case, db1f1.
4. place the wire on top of db1f1.
5. put your iron on the wire itself. There will be enough heat to melt the solder underneath. remove the iron once the solder on db1f1 melts.

it's easy - it just takes good technique and practice.
