Sorry, was a typo - 1N4148 diodes :)

I would jumper between j2d2.4 and j2d2.7 for now, yes. You might need a resistor in there but we'll worry about that later.

if you have a resistance between the two points I would say you're ok anyway. You could override it by bridging the two (the lesser resistance would win out - i.e direct link).

Did you check continuity between the points from the link I posted? J2D2.1 and J2D2.2 have alternate points - get your meter and put one probe on the diode (side closest to the QSPs) and the other on the alternate point. You should beep. This just makes sure that everything's going through as it should.

If you're happy with all the soldering and you've taken the diodes out of the equation (making sure they are pointing the right way of course), there's not much else I can suggest other than to let someone take a look at it for you.

Say do you have to extract the kv and inject it into the xell.bin before writeing xell?
You don't need to - even if you did, you would get a different result (alternate red/green flashing lights on the RoL).

What did you have on backwards??

Your post here shows J2D2.1 going to DB1F1 and J2D2.2 going to the RoL as it should be...

As for JTAG tool - what version did you use? I know that coolshrimp has since corrected the Jasper XeLL since I last posted about it - it also only affected XeLL, not the SMC build itself.

If you can clarify the above, I'll close this thread - thanks.

My lastes pic I moved my wires to the underside. When I did so I reversed the j2d2.1 and the j2d2.2. I also used Jtag tool 2.87. when checking continuity I have no continuity on j2d2.1 and db1f1 alt point but did on the j2d2.2 and alt. point.

Can you take a pic of your new wiring as this is confusing me slightly!

Yep, 2.87 has the new Jasper XeLL in there :)

All the same I really am thankfull for all the help you guys. Trial and error gets the job done. This was my first Jtag and I know I asked alot of simple questions and made some simple mistakes. All that matters is the results. In the end I figured it out on my own but I would have given up had it not been for your helpfull suggestions along the way. You kept me motivated and for that I thank you....

I did move some stuff around but if you notice I had to flip flop the red and blue wires around. I ended up moveing the red wire back to the top side of the mobo to the db1f1 point as I destroyed the alt. point on the underside:eek:
I do plan on redoing the diode on the red wire on the top but seeing as how I've been up all night working on it I just slaped it together this time kinda sloppy I know but sloppy got the job done.
