LITEON DG-16D2S JF no longer detecting drive after failed erase

one of the very fist drives i flashed i put the power source cable the wrong way round into the back of the drive by accident ,i was able to read it and dump the drive files but that was all as i killed the drive:rolleyes2:

Had to buy new drive?
Or replace a part?

if you have ck3 use it and try!

Well i got a CK3 Mini, but as said its powering off.
I am guessing new drive is all that's left to do.

Sorry I understand that you also have a ck3 (I think lite or pro). You can buy a new drive or a new pcb for yours (always must be the same model).

Nah i never bought the pro, if i knew it would fix the problem.
Then i would just order one, but somehow i doubt it.

Not sure if i can find PCBs around here.
Can get a new drive for 35bucks.

With a new drive i just use the dummy file from this one right?

Yea you would. Where are you based? Is there nobody near you who could test or repair the pcb?

Belgium, nobody i know of.
Mainly also because your basically not really allowed to do it over here.

What would you need to test the pcb? Or a guide somewhere perhaps?

If you still have the working drive that you tested to see if it was drive or ck, and you said you had access to an onboard sata but unable to determine which port it was, you can use your working drive to determine the port, the restart JF with erased pcb and load up the now known port and intro the pcb and see what happens

Did not try that, gonna try it in the morning.
Though not sure if it will matter with the CK3 acting up.

won't hurt to try. You living in Belgium would make shipping hard, or else i would do it for you free, Minus the shipping. But try it out and see if that works or either get new pcb or drive. Sorry mate.

Well i found the port, it detected my working drive.
But when i connected the other drive it would not detect it.
Even not during the short duration that CK3Mini was powered on.
So i am guessing part of the drive is broken.

I ordered a new 16D2S which i should get around tuesday.
And i'll see if i can find someone who can fix this one.

Yeah but i did not find anybody selling PCB's, at least not for a reasonable price.
Found 2 at 40€ while a new drive cost 30€.

1. plug the drive up to pc
2. run jf app
3. load ur ofw/cfw with ur key spoofed
4. mtkflash select ur sata port click liton-erase
5. then click yes then yes again
6. then it will ask u to power cycle the drive do so quickly
7. u should now be in vendor mode ur chipset should show to the right and status 0x72.click write
when done outro the device if outro worked correctly the drive model and key verified will be to the left agian.

thats it works everytime. also when i say power cycle the drive i mean with ck3/ck3i or if using the 360 for power unplug the power from the drive then back in quickly if u get 0x80 quickly powercycle agian all one motion u cycle 0x80 cycle agian should 0x72 do it quickly 1,2 you see " 1. 0x80 >> 2. 0x72 " off on 0x80 off on 0x72 =write
