GENERAL JR-Programmer V1 Upgrade Board

Well i got a nice little package in the mail today!
One of the items is the upgrade board for the JR-Programmer.

To dispel any myths - This upgrade gives you ONLY the speed of the JR-P v2

But what an upgrade!

but first, here is a pic of the board installed. reasonably simple to install - remove 5 resistors from the jrp (4 directly where the solder pads in the center are plus 1 you can see further up!), then solder the board in place! (blue points) - as always - FLUX is the key!

As for what it brings ..........................
a 16mb nand read 3:20 seconds
compared to 5:40 seconds prior to the upgrade

in excess of 2 mins improvement! :eek2::eek2::eek2:

New firmware is also required to make use of the upgrade.

In short - is the upgrade worth it? Hell yeah! - Nice One Xecuter!

I bought a JR Programmer last week and it came without the new board also...

Just an update the speed fix addon is NOW for sale.. $4.95 ...

It upsets me a little, I waited forever for this, and was told it was not coming so I purchased a new JR-Programmer v1.2 with the upgraded already on it... and only a few days after getting it they release the upgrade addon..

Now I need to order that and upgrade my v1 so i have a backup. kinda sucks cus I gotta spend $15 to ship a $5 item..

Hey do we use the file. "PICFLASH_E_1_0_4_JRP1_UPGRADE.HEX"

I put on the upgrade qsb and I am now getting

I know its the qsb not right or the flash. I am using an xbox i've dumped the nand with before I upgraded the jrunner. So the qsb on the xbox solder job is fine.

You need to set the switch to BL (you will see something like "Bootloader Attached" in the log), click "Tools", click "Update JR-P fw", select the HEX (click "Open") and once you see the write verifying in the log, set the BL switch back to normal.

Did what u said flashing with C:\J-Runner v02 Beta (280) Core Pack\common\PICFLASH_E_1_0_4_JRP1_UPGRADE.HEX

Restarting Device ...
Finished!

Then go to dump the nand
