hello i have bought a xbox 360 already jtaged about 6months ago it has freestyle dash on it. it still works and i play games fine on it through an external hard drive. now i want to start playing online via system link but i dont think i can use freestyle with that cause i want the 30pings hack so i was reading i need freeboot for that. and i also want to put dash launch and update to the new freestlye and now i am reading i need to flash my nand for freeboot. my question is my box is jtagged already but it dont have the lpt port hack its just the wiring he did for me. so will i be able to use nand x to read and flash my nand still being that its allready wired for jtag? any information would help
thank you

Yes you can use the nand-x to read/write to your jtag. The connections on the board are seperate for the jtag and nand reading/writing. You may already have freeboot on your console, go into console settings and system info and look at the dash revision, if its 9199 then its freeboot you have. The new dashlaunch patches will allow you to have the system ping check and allow you to autoboot into freestyle. Do you have fsd 1.2 or 2.01? Did you get given a disc with your keys and original nand dumps aswell ?

Before you start tinkering with your xbox you will need a original nand dump and your cpu key. You might have a older freeboot but probably more likely to have xbr running on your xbox.

Apart from your DVD key you might be able to contruct a freeboot image using your existing XBR image or you could reconstruct a fresh NAND from a donor. Most of all remember to dump your existing working XBR image and save that in a safe place, you'll need it again if nothing else works for you.

Hello how could I find it in the xbr imange? If I don't have my original dump how can I get it? I checked my dash board version and if u look at my other post I put my dash version. So what's my next step? Can't I get an original dump using the NAND-x

Your original NAND is no longer there as it has been overwritten by XBR and obviousely who ever sold you the console didn't give you a copy of it.

Use the NAND-X to dump your working XBR, then flash xell to to obtain your CPU key. Once you got the CPU key try compiling a copy of freeboot using the XBR you dumped. If that doesn't work then you'll need a raw or an original NAND from another console which then you can inject your existing KV after you extract it from XBR and then compile freeboot.

Ok so the guy I got the jtag from tells me I have the newest freeboot installed being that I got my jtag from him. So if I have the newest freeboot installed I still need my NAND key and CPU key?

The newest freeboot will give you the 9199 dash. To have the system link patch you need freeboot 0.32 and can just use dashlaunch v2.01

You will need to compile a new freeboot image using your cpukey.

Try and boot up your console by switching it on holding the eject button. It should boot into xell and youll be able to grab your cpukey. This wont work with the hdmi cable plugged in and has to be the av cable. Also make a couple backups of what is on your nand now.

*Never follow an update prompt or you'll disable your JTAG permanently.

First test your CPU key and ensure it's correct by adding it to the CPU key list in 360 flash tool. Next load up your XBR dump into 360 flash tool, if the CPU key is correct, it will decrypt your key vault and you should be able to see all their values on the right side of the screen.

The easiest way to compile freeboot is using jtag tool, type in your CPU key in the space provided then click on create bin. Jtag tool then will ask you for a source flash, use your XBR dump. Follow the screen prompts and then save your created image of freeboot.

Last, click on write bin and select your saved flashboot image as source. Done!

i am getting an error when i am using jtag tool. i get freeboot.bin was not created. when i first put my cpu key in and hit create bin i was asked to pick a device type that would be usb cause i dont or didn't use lpt. and then i have to pick my consoul type. when i do that i then hit creat bin then i pick my dump and then it says
ibuild 0.05 - coded by ikari
Error: Could not find file "sysupdate.xexp1".
ERROR: Unhandled exception.
Press any key to continue . . .

so i hit any key then it says
ibuild 0.05 - coded by ikari
Error: Could not find file "sysupdate.xexp1".
ERROR: Unhandled exception.
Press any key to continue . . .

so i hit any key then it picks a place to save so i name it new file and hit save then i get freeboot.bin was not created. whats wrong??? i did the test with my cpu key and i seen all the valvues on the right so that worked.

Which version of jtag tool are you using? And what type of board is your console (xenon, zephyr, falcon, jasper)?

You might want to try this, probably easier for you.
