JTag And Original DVD Drive

I successfully Jtaged an old Xenon the other day. Now running modified 16202 dash which boots fine. Efuse mod also done.
I'm not certain if the DVD drive was fully functional as the Xbox was given to me in a state where it didn't boot and the official HD was also missing.
Now the unit boots fine however the DVD drive won't read any official games. I just get the message "Please use this DVD in a Microsoft Xbox"

Question - Have I created an image that hasn't carried over the DVD key (should I have added the key in the Xbuild options in JRunner) or does the drive need to be flashed to run within the MS modified 16202 dash. The drive is the original Toshiba/Samsung TS-H943A
I obviously haven't tried to install any other dashboards at this stage as I waiting to get a replacement MS HD drive to install them onto. I can then add an additional Fat32 external drive.

Thanks..

Reflash the drive with LT 2.01 using drive key from NAND dump

The Notepad updflash.bin image built shows the correct DVD key that I originally wrote down in Xell so I assume it's been intregrated into the image.

If it realy is the original drive and its not modified, i would say its faulty. Do as Martin said and dump the FW from it and compare the key to whats in your kv, if its different just reflash your drive with the key from the nand.

Ran original Nand dump with CPU key through Flash 360 and vault DVD key matches.
You're still not answering my question.

Do you understand what I asked, or is it more you don't understand what you're doing?

Excuse my logic but assuming the original nand is in tact and the drive has never been touched or replaced how could the FW DVD key change from what is shown in the Nand dump?

I'm new to all this but trying to learn as much a possible.
In answer to your question probably a bit of both

well then dump the firmware off the dvd drive and post that up so we know the dvd keys match

also being how the dvd drive is still running pre 13141 firmware, you are going to have to dump and reflash it with post 13141 firmware anyway(like 3.0). so then you can verify the key matches

Thanks...Right, it's starting to make sense now as to why the drive is not responding. Time to study up on drive flashing however don't have any hardware at the moment to do it. Something like the CK3i looks like a must!

Your logic is flawed:

If you were never able to test it, you'll probably find this DVD drive doesn't belong to the console.

Every seal was in tact when I opened it and with the amount of dust inside I don't think this box had ever been opened.

Its still not a bad idea to check the key in the FW against your kv. If it matches, the drive is probably bad, or you managed to find some setting in jrunner that i never used or knew about.

It's possible to open a console and replace warranty seals, just so you know.

The only thing you can do here is dump the drive firmware and check the DVD key.
