Help! My hard drive is nearly full on my jtag. Although I use an external drive for my games, DLC and XBLA has filled my internal drive to the brink. I've got a bigger 2.5 inch drive, but I'm struggling to figure out how to back up my old drive and copy the files over.

I put the new drive in the 360, and from there used the dash to format the drive. I used Buffalo Party to backup the old files to a giant 200 GB .bin file on my desktop. I connected the new drive to the desktop, and used the restore option to transfer the content back to my HD.

It took all night. This morning, I tested the new HD out. I put the HD into my jtag. Doesn't appear to have worked, there is no FSD or anything booting from this HD. My original HD still works fine, so I still have that.

What is the best way to transfer the files from my old HD to the new one, so that my JTAG will continue to boot the way it used to, will have my old content, and plenty of room for new content?

Much thanks!

well, what i would do is this

1. format your new drive in the dash, you now have the microsoft partitions on the drive
2. use the file manager in FSD to transfer whatever files from HDD to HDD, you may need to use something like a HDD transfer cable
