JTAG points first or LPT connection?

Hey guys, got a falcon mobo here with 7371 dash, mfr date: Dec 07.

Its CB version is UNKNOWN, so should I dump nand FIRST, run it through in degraded and THEN solder in JTAG point wires?

The reason for this is because I don't want to waste time soldering in the JTAG points and then finding out that I have an unexploitable CB, so I wasted my time!

Or... Do you HAVE to do the JTAG soldering before you can dump/write to your nand? If so, then what does the JTAGing actually DO? Because I'm aware reading/writing to any xbox 360's nand has never really been a problem, so whats the JTAG for?

Dump the NAND first (try to get at least two identical dumps) and check the CB (5770 is the deadline for Falcons) and if it is exploitable you can install the JTAG wiring.

youll need lpt points to dump your nand and jtag points to get your cpu key etc, before you can make a freeboot image so might as well do both sets mate

Nowhere
lpt wires only will be required to physically read and write to the nand, the jtag wires are only to allow it to boot up a freeboot or xell image,so yes you can only solder in your lpt wires to dump the nand and see if its exploitable.once you see in degraded that it has exploitable cb version then u can solder in your jtag wires.
