JTAG - strange ROL behaviour

Hi there,

I have jtagged my Jasper Arcade (512mbit Nand) with a NAND-X kit; everything seems to be working alright, it boots into Xell without a problem, dashboard is behaving as it should, and games are running smoothly. I haven't tested any custom dashboards yet as I'm waiting for my exchange harddrive case to arrive, but it boots region locked games from a different region than mine flawlessly so I guess freeboot is doing a good job.

Now there's one thing that is bothering me a bit: the ring of light is behaving strangely from time to time. The other day I had two steady red segments (upper left and lower right), yesterday three segments were lit (only lower right was dark) with only one controller connected. Everything else works fine, no graphic errors or otherwise funky behaviour, and the ring of light behaves correctly once I restart the box. Is this a sign for a bad soldering job (my soldering skills are rather rusted), or do I have to test the different settings of the jtag switch? Just want to make sure that I'm not getting near any major problem...

Its cause of the hacked SMC == code gets injected / send over a line thats normally used for the ROL-Board (RF-Unit). So if you use a AUD_Clamp-patched SMC and solder the "RF-Unit wire" to AUD_CLAMP you won't have these issues anymore ;)

Ah... sounds logical. But it's just a cosmetical issue? I don't mind some different lighting, as long as it doesn't wreck the hardware... ;)
