JTAG USB 2.5 self-powered drive

Guys I have a portable 2.5 USB 1TB drive that is my only drive on JTAG -> DL/FSD/Content

The system boots reasonably quick with this drive.

Whats frustrating is after shutdown, to power the system up and boot from that drive reasonably quick again, the power from the console needs disconnected then reinserted.

If I don't do this, boot time is like 2-3 minutes. Its like the system is scanning the whole drive.

Reseating USB does not work.

Anyone run into this?

I had a drive that when plugged in, it would boot very slow or now at all. I determined that it was just an incomparability of the drive or at least the USB to SATA adapter.

Does your external drive have an external power source or is it USB powered? If its externally powered the enclosure may be spinning down and going into power save mode.
